An initiative is considered to be Russian citizens proposal on social and economic development and improvement of state and municipal government.

What do you need to do to post an initiative or to vote for an initiative?

• To be Russian citizen over 18 years;
• To have an access to a computer connected to the Internet;
• To be registered on the portal www.gosuslugi.ru;
• To have your initiative well formulated to offer it to the government.

How many votes do you need to get to direct your initiative to the government?

At the federal level and in regions with a population of more than 2 million you are supposed to get at least 100 000 (one hundred thousand) votes to support an initiative.

At the regional and municipal levels you are supposed to get not less than 5 % of the registered population.

Where does this initiative go?

It goes to expert groups on the federal, regional and municipal levels. There, experts make a decision on implementation measures.
